Members of Parliament Kops and Edgar Mulder (both PVV) have submitted the private member’s bill for the Temporary Emergency Act on Affordable Energy to the House of Representatives.
With this bill, natural gas and electricity will be brought under the 0% rate for one year (2022). There is the option of an extension for one year. A comparable arrangement is made for the general spending tax on the BES islands. In addition, the one-off energy surcharge will be increased from € 200 to € 600.
The initiators want to reduce energy bills immediately with the bill.
The bill must enter into force with retroactive effect to January 1, 2022.
