On 22 February 2022, the Swedish Ministry of Finance announced the submission of two draft bills that provided for the implementation of certain VAT measures announced as part of the 2022 budget. This includes the increase in the VAT exemption/registration threshold from SEK 30,000 to SEK 80,000 and a further reduction in the VAT rate from 12% to 6% on repairs to bicycles, shoes, leather goods, clothing, and household linens. Both measures will apply from 1 July 2022.
