Lithuania proposes to reduce VAT Rate for electricity and food products

Draft legislation (Unoffical translation) 

Electricity:

Article 1 . Amendment of Article 19

1 . Amend Article 19 (3) (5) to read as follows:

” 5 ) electricity supplied to household energy consumers as defined in the Law on Energy of the Republic of Lithuania , supplied to firewood and wood products for heating”; 

Article 2. Entry into force and implementation of the law

This law will enter into force in 2022. July 1

 

Food products:

 Article 1 . Amendment of Article 19

Add the following point 9 to Article 19 (3):

” 9 ) foodstuffs . ”  

Article 2  .  Entry into force and implementation of the law

1 . The Government of the Republic of Lithuania or an institution authorized by it up to 20 22 years of age. April 3 0 adopt the legal acts implementing this Law .

2 . This law, with the exception of paragraph 1, shall enter into force in 2022. May 1

I promulgate this law adopted by the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.
