From 1 January 2022, entrepreneurs can no longer submit their VAT return in the old business portal of the Tax Authorities. The VAT return must now be done on Mijn Belastingdienst, using eHerkenning.
This switch poses problems in a number of areas. This applies both to taxpayers who have been delayed in switching and to taxpayers who are not natural persons and cannot be registered in the trade register of the Chamber of Commerce. At the end of 2021, the circumstances surrounding the phasing out of the old portal and the switch to the new portal will be further clarified.
