In a post published on this blog on April 16, 2021, we talked about the VAT taxation of online events (webinars, conferences, congresses, courses, classes, etc). In short, we tried to determine the place where the taxable event of this type of activity took place and, therefore, where they should be subject to VAT. This is a controversial issue because this type of event has multiplied in recent times as a result of the global situation that has restricted face-to-face events. Since participation in them is done through the internet network,it is possible that the organizer of the event and the participants to it may be located anywhere in the world. This further complicates the determination of the VAT taxation of these activities .
