On a proposal from Minister of Finance Vincent Van Peteghem, the Council of Ministers approves a draft royal decree to extend the reduced VAT rate of 6% for mouth masks and hydroalcoholic gels.
This draft provides for a temporary extension of three months for the reduced VAT rate of 6% on mouth masks and hydroalcoholic gels. This extension aims to ensure continuity in the application of this reduced VAT rate for those goods. This measure contributes to financially support citizens with regard to the necessary protective equipment to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The temporary extension covers the period from 1 January to 31 March 2022.
