The Luxembourg government has just initiated a gradual roll-out of the electronic invoicing obligation with government institutions through the PEPPOL network.
This project is part of the European Union’s Digitization plan and follows on from Directive 2014/55 / EU, which aims to simplify administrative procedures and strengthen internal security by reducing the use of paper.
The last deadline of the project implementation schedule is scheduled for July 2022. The electronic invoicing obligation will then come into force and will impact all companies not yet issuing their invoices in electronic format.
This new electronic invoicing obligation will allow Luxembourg to have more transparent taxation, and to optimize exchanges between suppliers and public administrations.
