One of the most controversial measures of the new regulations on VAT in electronic commerce operations that came into force on July 1, 2021 has been the one relating to the responsibility of digital platforms that facilitate the sale of goods to consumers finals through the internet.
One of the main objectives of this measure is to achieve effective and efficient VAT collection on online sales, in turn reducing the administrative burden on suppliers and tax administrations.
