With the aim of continuing with the economic reactivation, by promoting tourist activity and increasing the sales of the country’s merchants, the national government modified the provisions that regulate the refund of sales tax, VAT, paid in the acquisition of taxed assets in the national territory by foreign tourists, in addition to linking third-party operators in the process that will expedite the recognition of said returns.
This simplification is in addition to the measures taken by the national government within the economic reactivation strategy such as the Social Investment Law, the new Tourism Law and those determined in the framework of the response to the pandemic generated by Covid 19 .
