The European Commission published on Oct 29, 2021 the most recent version of the Combined Nomenclature (CN) that will be applicable as from 1 January 2022.
As noted in an EC release, the CN provides the basis for the declaration of goods: (1) at importation or exportation, or (2) when subject to intra-EU trade statistics.
- The CN determines which rate of customs duty applies and how the goods are treated for statistical purposes.
- The CN is updated every year.
