The Philippines Department of Finance issued a release on 26 October announcing that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has been instructed to establish a dedicated unit to track online sales of goods and services and coordinate with tax authorities in other countries in order to determine how to properly tax such transactions. The release also notes new rules for the taxation of social media influencers.
