Lithuania Proposes To Reduce VAT for Thermal Energy to 5% until 1 May 2022

Article 1. Amendment of Article 19
1. Article 19 (3) (1) is replaced by the following:
“1) from 2022. May 1 thermal energy supplied for the heating of dwellings (including heat transmitted through a hot water supply system), for the preparation of hot water or cold water supplied to dwellings for hot water and for heat used to heat this water; ‘.
2. The following point 4 is added to Article 19 (4):
“4) until 2022. May 1 thermal energy supplied for the heating of dwellings (including heat transmitted through a hot water supply system), for the preparation of hot water or cold water supplied to dwellings for hot water and for heat used to heat this water; ‘.
3. The following point 5 is added to Article 19 (4):
“5) until 2022. May 1 natural gas supplied to household energy consumers as defined in the Law on Energy of the Republic of Lithuania. ”.
Article 2. Entry into force and implementation of the law
1. This Law, with the exception of paragraph 2 of this Article, shall enter into force on 2022. January 1
2. The Government of the Republic of Lithuania until 2021. December 30 adopt legal acts implementing this Law.
I promulgate this law adopted by the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.
