During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indonesian retail sector has been severely affected by restrictions on public activity imposed several times by the government. To ease the burden for retailers, the Minister of Finance on 30 July 2021 issued Regulation Number 102/PMK.010/2021 (PMK-102) introducing a government-borne VAT incentive for the sector.
