The Suriname government is reportedly planning to increase the sales tax rate to a single rate of 12%. The standard sales tax rates are currently 10% for the supply of goods and 8% for the rendering of services. For the import of goods, however, the rate was already increased to 12% from 1 February 2021. The increase to a single 12% rate for all supplies is currently under consideration in parliament.
