Part of the government’s action aimed at expanded verification of construction-related products
A decree (403/2021 (VII.8)) temporarily expands the range of construction products subject to Hungary’s electronic trade and transport control system (EKAER) notification process—but only for the duration of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic emergency.
The EKAER system is designed to minimize the possibility of value added tax (VAT) fraud.
Construction-related products listed in an annex to the decree are subject to EKAER notification during the temporary period. The measures are effective 9 July 2021.
The decree is part of the government’s action aimed at expanded verification of construction-related products, and thus require certain administrative compliance actions by taxable persons.
