The European Commission has sent a letter of formal notice to Romania because it does not allow certain categories of companies access to the One Stop Shop (OSS) system, although they are eligible under the VAT Directive. The letter of formal notice is the first step in the infringement procedure. The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) announced that the One Stop Shop (OSS) electronic system became operational this month. The system facilitates electronic registration and declaration for companies, as well as the payment of value added tax related to certain categories of goods and services, in cross-border Business-to-Consumer (B2C) trade.
