Bolivia is currently re-implementing its electronic invoicing system. It is about to begin the mass mandatory adoption of the electronic invoice after postponing it because of the country’s political situation last year which was further aggravated by the global health crisis. However, the very same law repealing the electronic invoice stated that its implementation could continue through separate legislation implementing different modalities of the electronic invoice.
After two months of having repealed the law, the Bolivian tax authority Servicio de Impuestos Nacionales – SIN published the new electronic invoicing law through norm N°102000000017. Currently the voluntary adoption of the electronic invoice exists, but it is likely that a calendar indicating which companies must adopt it will be published this year.
