Six months after the approval of its digital services tax, the Spanish government has finally published regulatory guidelines to implement it. Although the digital services tax took effect in January, its complexity and lack of guidance delayed the payment date to July 1, to give taxpayers time to adjust to the new tax and legislators time to publish the regulatory guidelines.
