The VAT on train tickets went up to 9 percent on January 1, 2019. Rintel believes that this increase makes train travel unnecessarily expensive. “We have gone from 6 to 9 percent tax on train tickets. Let’s reverse that first. This makes it cheaper for everyone,” she says in BNR Mobility.
