The Greek Ministry of Finance has issued a release regarding a recent speech of the Minister of Finance in parliament. While most of the release concerns government plans for investments and different zones, the extension of certain COVID-19 support measures is also noted. This includes an extension of the 6% reduced VAT rate provided for products needed for personal hygiene and protection from COVID-19 until 31 December 2021, including medical masks and gloves, soap, antiseptics, and ethyl alcohol (for production of antiseptics). The release also confirmed an extension of the 13% reduced VAT rate for specific goods and services until 30 September 2021. Although not specified in the release, this includes coffee and non-alcoholic beverages, passenger transport, and cinema theatrical performance tickets.
