Effective 1 January 2021, the URA finally brought into operation the Electronic Receipting and Invoicing System (EFRIS) for all Value Added Tax (VAT) registered taxpayers operating businesses in Uganda. A number of related changes were also made to the monthly VAT return template, some of which were deferred to the February return which is due for filing by 15 March 2021.
