In a broadcast on BNR radio, director Wijnand Jongen of Thuiswinkel.org states that from January 1, 2021, online stores would have to pay both Dutch and British VAT for a package with a value of less than 135 pounds, the so-called ‘small parcel VAT’. “Not true”, is the comment of the VAT institute when asked. “For export to a non-EU country, which is the United Kingdom from next year, 0% VAT applies when the package leaves the Netherlands.”
