The past five years have seen a rise in the fight against VAT fraud. With this, a lot of things had to be changed as well – for example, a better tax monitoring system had to be implemented, as well as systems that would successfully eliminate unfair competition. Unfair competition is a term usually related to businesses and companies that try to avoid paying taxes any way they can. As a result, they profit a lot more than complying companies.
