The Ministry of Finance is preparing an extension of the general pardon thanks to which it will shift the VAT due date to more entities. This is the area of retail and services, which has been directly affected by the latest government measures to combat coronavirus (ban on activities). VAT for the 3rd quarter and September 2020, due on Monday 26 October 2020, will be effectively extended to these entities until 31 December 2020 (by waiving interest on late tax) based on the notification submitted to the financial administration. Due to the fact that the fine for late tax claim will not be waived, it is necessary to file the tax return and the control report within the statutory deadline. Details will be set out in a general pardon to be published in the Financial Bulletin on Monday 26 October 2020.
