Entrepreneurs must submit a VAT return within one month after the end of the tax period to which it relates. July 31, 2020 was the last day of the second quarter of 2020 to submit the VAT return. Just on this day, the portal was largely inaccessible due to a malfunction. On September 22, 2020 the State Secretary confirms that all entrepreneurs have been granted a postponement up to and including 7 August for submitting their VAT returns for the second quarter of 2020. No fine will be imposed on the VAT returns made after 31 July if the VAT returns are received at latest on 7 August.
