The 22 prosecutors at the new European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) were sworn in at a ceremony at the European Court of Justice. Under the leadership of the first chief public prosecutor, the Romanian anti-corruption officer Laura Kövesi, the 22 will be engaged in, among other things, the fight against cross-border VAT fraud above 10 million euros and misuse of EU funds.
