Both end-users and internet service providers could breathe a sigh of relief after the National Board of Revenue slashed the value-added tax ISPs pay while buying wholesale bandwidth and connectivity yesterday. The government has reduced the rate of Value Added Tax (VAT) on International Terrestrial Cable (ITC), International Internet Gateway (IIG) and Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network (NTTN) to 5%.
