The UK hospitality sector has been adversely affected by the Covid restrictions. An industry with 2 million employees has seen 1.4 million of them furloughed.
To kickstart this from July 15 until January 12 next year VAT will be reduced from 20% to 5% for the Hospitality & Tourism industries. This includes on:
– Accommodation; hotels, B&B’s, campsites, carvan sites
– Catering, i.e, eat-in & hot take away food from café’s, restaurants and pubs
– Attractions, themeparks, cinemas and zoos
– & More, presumably museums, theatres and music venues to (although still closed, but there are plans to allow open air events)
