A VAT reduction as implemented in Belgium or Germany with the aim of stimulating the economy is not possible in the Netherlands, because the supporting automation systems at the tax authorities cannot handle this. State Secretary Vijlbrief of Finance replied to parliamentary questions by MP Van Otterloo (50PLUS).
