Reduced VAT rates are extended until the end of 2020. for the 5 Aegean islands

The Deputy Ministers of Finance, Mr. Apostolos Vesyropoulos and Mr. Theodoros Skylakakis, signed a Joint Decision, which extends the validity of the reduced VAT rates. for the islands of Leros, Lesvos, Kos, Samos and Chios, which lift the burden of managing the migration problem.
With this decision, the reduction by thirty percent (30%) of VAT rates is extended until 31.12.2020. for the goods and services provided for in the provisions of paragraphs 4 and 5 of Article 21 of Law 2859/2000 (VAT Code).
This decision is a practical support to the economy of these islands, which, in addition to the consequences of the pandemic, are also facing the effects of immigration.
