In response to covid19, the tax authority announced on Mrch 24, 2020 that amendment of the XSD-schema to be uploaded to the Online Invoice system is postponed. The new 2.0 data structure will only have to be used from July 1 2020 (and not April 1 – v 1.1 version can be used for 3 additional months). Note that v2.0 can already be used in the live environment and recommended that taxpayers complete the switch as soon as possible.

According to the press release of the Hungarian Tax Authority, it will not be obligatory to use XSD version 2.0 from April 1, 2020. Taking into consideration the special circumstances caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, the deadline for transitioning to v2.0 will be July 1, 2020.
In line with governmental measures and proposals to slow the spread of the pandemic, the National Tax and Customs Administration will not cease to support XSD version 1.1 of the Online Invoicing System as of April 1, 2020 and will not make the use of XSD version 2.0 mandatory.
Taxpayers have therefore gained three more months to test and activate their invoice data reporting according to the new schema.
However, it is important to note that since February 27 XSD 2.0 can already be used live in parallel with Version 1.1 XSD, thus conditions for the transition are already provided on the Online Invoice webpage.
