The Tax Modernization Bill introduced a Digital Services Tax which will subject certain digital services provided by foreign suppliers to 19% local VAT if such services are provided or utilized in Chile. The Bill has now been signed by the President and published in the Official Gazette and has therefore now entered into force. The Digital Services Tax provision has a delayed implementation date and is due to take effect from 1 June 2020.
