On 18 February 2020, the Council of the European Union (the Council or ECOFIN) adopted
- simplified VAT rules for small businesses effective January 1, 2025
- a set of rules to facilitate the detection of tax fraud in cross-border e-commerce transaction seffective 1 January 2024.
