Normally taxpayers who apply for a (new) VAT identification number receive a letter from the Dutch tax authorities within 2 weeks. This month, it may take longer, due to the fact that the number of registrations is much larger than usual.
A taxpayer usually receives a VAT ID if they have registered as an entrepreneur at the Chamber of Commerce, or if they have registered using the ‘Starting entrepreneur’s statement’ or the ‘Solar panel holders’ declaration’ form.
