The European VAT rules for goods continue to apply in Northern Ireland but it legally leaves the EU Customs Union.
That is the result of the Brexit agreement concluded yesterday between the European Commission and
the United Kingdom (UK). Northern Ireland remains at the same time part of the UK VAT area.
