MERCOSUR decision allows goods to retain origin quality when passing through a free trade zone

Decision No. 33/015 reverses the treatment of goods from MERCOSUR, which previously lost their MERCOSUR origin when they entered a free trade zone. Under Decision 33/015, goods made with materials from MERCOSUR countries will retain their MERCOSUR origin and are eligible for preferential tax treatment, provided they enter a free trade zone for transportation or warehousing.
