On July 1, 2019, Kyrgyzstan launched a pilot project on the issuance of electronic VAT invoices. Taxpayers may participate on a voluntary basis. To issue electronic VAT invoices, an electronic signature of the taxpayer is required. In addition, the Kyrgyzstan State Tax Service recently announced that effective for the July 2019 tax period, taxpayers must switch to electronic tax reporting using a qualified electronic signature. As such, taxpayers with monthly reporting must submit forms electronically beginning August 2019 and taxpayers with quarterly reporting must submit forms electronically beginning October 2019.
