The free trade agreement (FTA) would eliminate import duties on more than 90% of the products traded between the two blocs. Multinationals should consider becoming authorized economic operators, as it will facilitate their ability to trade between the blocs. They also should reassess their indirect tax costs embedded in the supply chain and consider alternatives to leverage their presence in MERCOSUR and EU countries.
