At this meeting it was confirmed that Japan is to introduce a new tax on B2C digital services. This new tax is to come into effect on October 1, 2015. What are your thoughts on this new tax? It’s akin to the new EU VAT rules that were introduced on January 1, 2015, and align with the OECD’s general approach to the taxation of the digital economy. Thoughts?
