VAT Rate changes in 2015 | Meridian.
The European VAT rate changes in 2015 are as follows:
Czech Republic
There is a new second reduced VAT rate 10%.
Iceland
The standard VAT rate has decreased from 25.5% to 24%. The reduced VAT rate has increased from 7% to 11%.
Luxembourg
The standard VAT rate has increased from 15% to 17% and the reduced VAT rates have both increased 2% to 8% and 14%.The super- reduced VAT rate of 3 % remains unchanged.
There are some VAT rate changes in relation to specific services/ goods which are changing in 2015:
France
Admission to sporting events has decreased from 10% to 5.5%.
Spain
Health products and medical equipment, medicinal substances and intermediate products have increased from 4% to 21%.
Italy
E- books* have been reduced from 22% to 4%.
Germany
Audio-books* have been reduced from 19% to 4%.
Malta
E- books* have been reduced from 18% to 5%.
*This change relates to the supply of audio/e books on physical carrier media i.e. CDs, DVDs, SD-Cards, USB drives and similar media.
