- Eligibility for Claiming Back Deposits: Businesses, customs agents, and freight forwarders can claim back security deposits for goods imported temporarily into the UK or moved from Great Britain to Northern Ireland under Temporary Admission, using an online system via the Customs Declaration Service.
- Claim Submission Requirements: Claims must be submitted after exporting, discharging, or disposing of the goods, and before the end of the Temporary Admission period, along with necessary documentation, including the Movement Reference Number (MRN), evidence of discharge, and the claimant’s bank details.
- Process After Claim Submission: After submitting a claim, the claimant receives a confirmation email with a reference number. HMRC may request additional information, and claim status can be monitored through the online claims dashboard.
