In Norway, sales and returns can be combined on the same receipt if the POS system allows it. The receipt must have the word ‘Salgskvittering’ (sales receipt) at the top and may also have the word ‘Returkvittering’ (return receipt). The number and amount of sales receipts and returns must be stated in X and Z reports, as per the Cash Register System Regulation. Returns cannot be on the sales receipt unless the cash register system meets the specification requirements for the reports.
