Thinking of an event in Mauritius? You may qualify for a VAT refund of 15% thanks to a recent law introduced by the local Ministry of Finance.
Organisers of corporate events, incentives and weddings can get VAT back on hotel expenses (except alcohol) if certain conditions are met:
– at least 100 foreign attendees;
– minimum of 3-night stay;
– registration on the Government website at least 30 days before the event;
– submitting a VAT refund request within 30 days after the event.
