This Guide has been issued by the TA to provide additional interpretation and guidance for the application of the VAT Law and its corresponding Executive Regulations to the financial services sector. It has been drafted with input from the banking, insurance and Islamic financial products sectors by regulators, industry bodies and others. The Guide will be updated from time to time. This Guide explains the TA’s interpretation of key provisions of the Law relevant to financial services and outlines how the TA’s administrative policies pertain to transactions made by financial institutions or any business that provides financial services as part of its activities.
