It’s not surprising that businesses are often confused about the VAT treatment of chain transactions, as, by definition, the purchaser and the receiver of the goods are not the same entity. Sometimes they are not even located in the same country or even on the same continent. As a result, the rules surrounding chain transactions can be complicated.
