The Minister of Finance, Elian Villegas, totally ruled out that the Government is going to propose an increase of one percentage point in Value Added Tax (VAT) – IVA in Spanish -, or the creation of a tax on banking transactions, in the negotiation of fiscal adjustment with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
