The BEPS rules have an effect on the regulations in India for e-commerce activities. India introduced an “equalisation levy’’ on certain non-resident businesses. The levy is at the rate of six percent on non-resident companies engaged in online advertisement, any provision for digital advertising space or any other facility or service for the purpose of online advertisement and includes any other service as may be notified by the Central Government in this behalf.
